Minimum Role Requirements |
Qualifications : · Relevant Degree or Higher Diploma
Experience : · At least 10 years’ experience in a functional/specialist role, of which 5 have been at a management level |

SHEQ : · Manage health, safety and environmental objectives within the Department

Finance :
· Manage the finances and budget of the Department · Monitor and control risks in own work/business environment · Lead and drive cost saving and cash conservation initiatives · Assist with cost forecasting

Customer Relations :
- Measure and monitor customer satisfaction within a business unit and recommend corrective action
- Develop and manage customer and supplier relationships to meet business objectives
Process :
- Ensure payroll operational efficiencies are achieved and monitor service against the standards and make improvements wherever necessary
- Review payroll standards on an annual basis
- Conduct audits on payroll system in accordance with internal risk management controls
- Approve and ensure the use of any new or changed documentation taking into account functional requirements
- Identify applicable legislative requirements that have an impact on the function
- Manage the strategic direction and implementation of Payroll initiatives
- Align Strategy to regional and global Payroll strategies, and customer business requirements
- Comply with all statutory requirements as pertaining to the Payroll
- Implement effective internal controls
- Maintain delegation of authority document in conjunction with the Senior Management
- Liaise with external and internal auditors
- Expand the scope of processes included in the Payroll function
- Ensure all reporting timetables are met
- Ensure payroll reconciliations are done
- Ensure all Offices comply with new policies and procedures regarding Payroll administration
- Manage the outsourced Payroll processing as per the SLA
- Resolve escalated Payroll queries and complaints
- Continuously evaluate the Payroll and Payroll systems and procedures against benchmark practices to ensure improvement and cost efficiency
- Maintain changes to the payroll system parameters to ensure control over methods and correctness of payroll applications
- Oversee the management reports and interpretation of data to advise on key issues to be addressed / investigated
- Compilation of reports as requested by management
- Electronic transfer of net salaries to employee’s bank accounts
People :
